SECURE YOUR PROPERTY

Secure Your Fences and Walls

Many of us make use of walls, hedges and fences to determine our boundary to our property. Many years ago it was common for these to be of low height, the need perhaps to keep a furry family member within our boundaries.

However, as time has moved on the need to increase security has become far greater.

Often the deterrent of the cost impact on the family to have this done can be substantial. If you have a beautiful hedge around your home, it may be possible to install the wall against the hedge to keep its aesthetics. Where not possible, it may well be worth looking at a duel face precast wall. Or a one-sided pattern.

If privacy is the main concern with an existing wall, it may be possible to extend the wall you already have. Substantially reducing the cost of giving your family peace of mind.

When inspecting an existing precast wall, we find it important to have a look at the structural integrity of the vibracrete wall. This means looking for things like cracks in the posts as well as the precast slabs. If found, such structurally compromised parts need to be removed from the wall and replaced. In such an instance, we would advise taking down the existing wall or part thereof, and replacing the poles and all broken slabs. Where possible, slabs that are reusable will be reinstalled into the wall.

It is of great importance that an extension is not done on precast slabs and poles that are structurally compromised as there is a great risk of safety to the families on both sides of the wall. The adding of extra height also adds extra weight to the wall and is done in increments of 300mm / 600mm or 900mm. Anything higher than 900mm as an extension is not advised, as this makes the wall far to top heavy and largely increases the concern for safety. If there is a need to heighten a wall beyond the recommended 900mm for an extension pole, we would advise to have the existing poles replaced with a full length pole to the finished height of the new wall.

This will maximise your privacy and the security of the wall. Again, keeping cost in mind, the precast slabs removed from the existing wall where possible can be reused in the new wall.

Securing your property is of utmost importance, it provides privacy and safety to your property as well as to your family or business. Having this installation done professionally ensures the best quality of both the product and workmanship for longevity in the investment into your property.
